It's Stormy out there!

Quite stormy!  Lightening struck in our backyard and we lost our internet, TV, and some other electrical things. 

It hit somewhere in or near the backyard - the "boom" was so loud and it shook the whole house!  My children (and their friends) and came running - and screaming.  Wow!  All I can say is it was so powerful!

So - today was spent replacing things that were lost:  cable modem, router, directTV receiver, external hard drive, and surge protector.  Yes - it was ALL plugged into the surge protector.  The company (who made and sells the surge protector) is replacing it and I'm filing a claim for all the other losses we incurred. 

Moral of the story?  If you see a lot of lightening - take a few moments and unplug everything that you don't want to replace!  It's worth it.
